Is it safe to visit Naxos alone?

As a general rule, it is neither safe nor easy for most people to travel alone. It just doesn’t feel safe enough, especially the first time. Have you ever thought about it? First of all you will have to deal with a bunch of negative comments that your friends and relatives will bombard you with every single day, hoping they will, eventually, change your mind and alter your travel plans. They mean well. But Naxos is far from the deepest darkest jungle. Wherever we go, even in our home town, when we are alone we need to be more careful and, although we hardly ever do so, it is comforting to plan ahead in case something goes wrong. It is good practice to tell a friend or relative where we are going and roughly when we plan to return.
